The last of our traditional “Summer Holidays” has come and gone. Memorial Day marks the beginning of the season, the 4th of July marks the middle and, Labor Day marks the end of the summer season. These markers are not wholly in line with the actual summer calendar, but as with children, these are how we measure the summer season.

Now, our attention focuses on the approach of autumn and the holidays ahead. In many regions, the weather will start to subtly change, and you can sense Fall and cooler weather are just around the corner. For many, Fall is their favorite season of the year. Halloween and Thanksgiving are the holidays within the season we anticipate the most.

Remember the excitement and anticipation of Halloween? Costumes, trick or treating, haunted houses, and scary stories were top of mind. Often the Halloween candy purchased weeks prior was now consumed and had to be replenished. Pumpkins and carving parties were abundant with 1st prizes for the most creative and imaginative jack-o-lanterns.
